On March 11th, 2025, IMDEA Energy (Project Coordinator) convened the first General Assembly (GA) of the HVDC4ISLANDS project, bringing together all partners to review the project’s initial progress. The meeting served as a valuable platform to reflect on achievements during the first three months and to align on key objectives and strategic actions for the upcoming phases.
The session opened with introductions from all participants, followed by an overview of the progress made within each work package (WP) and the next steps to be undertaken.
A significant milestone at this stage was the completion of two documents: the Detailed Project Management Plan and the Data Management Plan. These were formally presented, and participants were encouraged to familiarize themselves with their content. Additionally, the Project Coordinator announced the forthcoming launch of the project’s official website.
One of the most pivotal sessions of the GA was the definition of the project’s Use Cases, setting a crucial direction for upcoming work.
Before wrapping up, attendees had the opportunity to visit the Smart Energy Integration Lab of IMDEA Energy —an engaging highlight of the day. The meeting concluded with a discussion on scheduling the next progress meetings, both virtual and in person, with tentative dates proposed.
